The autonomic nervous system evolved to protect us from immediate physical threats. When it perceives danger — real or perceived — it activates the same survival cascade that kept our ancestors alive: cortisol, adrenaline, increased heart rate, heightened vigilance.

The challenge is specificity. The system cannot distinguish between a physical predator and 57 unread emails. Both register as threat. Both trigger the same physiological response.

Tara Fairweather
Co-Founder & Programs Director

Tara is an evidence-based Naturopath and trauma-sensitive embodied movement, yoga & mindfulness facilitator, with advanced training in HeartMath coherence techniques. Her work bridges evidence-informed practice across somatic movement, natural medicine and nervous system regulation. As Programs Director, she designs and leads Ascension Movement's community events and organisational programs, setting the trauma-aware practice standards that run through everything we do.

Anthony Moorhouse
Co-Founder & Music Director

Anthony brings musicians, facilitators and community together through immersive live music experiences designed to support connection, presence & nervous system regulation. As Music Director, he collaborates with a diverse range of artists and instrumentalists to create intuitive soundscapes that evolve in real time, moving beyond performance and into participation.
